Bill Shaw

Bill Shaw is Managing Partner and the founder of Sitesurfer Publishing LLC, an electronic publishing, Web development, and e-commerce firm, established in 1994. Sitesurfer Publishing's clients range in size from small businesses to publicly traded corporations and can be found all over the globe. Bill has over 18 years computer, electronics and communications experience, including several programming languages and cipher encryption. Bill spent seven years in the United States Marine Corps as a Special Operations team leader and communications specialist. He holds a B.S. in Business from Rollins College, with minors in English and Organizational Behavior, as well as Master of Intellectual Property (M.IP) and Juris Doctor (J.D.) degrees from Franklin Pierce Law Center, one of the top rated IP law schools in the world.

Bill is Technical Director for The IP Mall, internationally recognized as one of the top intellectual property information resources on the Internet. He is a Past Vice Chair of CyberLaw at Pierce Law and past Electronic Communications Editor of IDEA: The Journal of Law and Technology, the FPLC law review. Bill has been published in the journal Risk: Health, Safety & Environment and is past Director of Web and Multimedia at the Innovation and Creativity Clinic in Concord.

Bill sat on the CIC Network (Concord Integrated Community Network) Task Force, a proactive business/governmental organization planning and implementing telecommunications strategy and infrastructure within the State of New Hampshire, and was the Applications Committee Chair. He served as Board Chair for the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce Technology Committee charged with implementing, among other things, the Chamber's Web site. Bill worked at the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission as a telecommunications legal analyst and sat on the New Hampshire Telecommunications Roundtable. Bill has held memberships for several years in the Licensing Executives Society, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and The Association of Internet Professionals.

Bill has lectured as a visiting Professor to undergraduate, MBA, M.IP, J.D., and LL.M. students at UNH's Whittemore School for Business, Franklin Pierce Law Center, the New Hampshire Bar, and various trade and business associations on a variety Internet business and legal issues. Bill has also lectured at the NH Governor's Conference for Travel and Tourism and at several trade and special interest groups. He has been written up in past issues of InterFace Monthly Magazine and the Concord Monitor.

Bill has served as Board Trustee of Riverbend Community Mental Health, Board Chair for the Law Student Cooperative Book Store, as an Incorporator for the Capital Center for the Arts, as an Incorporator for Capital Region Health Care, as Capital Campaign Committee Chair for the technology needs of a new Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center and administration office, as President and Board Director of the Capital City Rotary Club, and as Vocational Services Director and Board Member for the Cocoa Rotary Club. He is also a graduate of Leadership Greater Concord, NHBCA Leadership Arts program, and the Rotary Leadership Institute.

Bill is a founding Member and Manager of two legal publishing firms - LearningLaw LLC and MagnaLaw LLC. He also is a founder and Board Director of a not-for-profit distance education firm, The Education Law Consortium, Inc.

Bill is happily married with two amazing children, and enjoys fishing, the beach, sushi, cooking, and travel.
